Samira Ghorbanzadeh

Education

Pursuing my passion for civil engineering, I earned a bachelor's degree followed by a master's degree in geotechnical engineering from Ferdowsi University of Mashhad. My aim was to to focus on designing structures that can withstand seismic forces. My thesis explored a novel method to improve seismic performance in residential buildings through incorporating rubber sand mixture (RSM) under their foundations (read my article). This project introduced me to FLAC—a commercial coding-based software—igniting my fascination with coding as an avenue for creativity and self-expression. Post-graduation, I enhanced my coding skills through online courses offered by SheCodes.io. These courses equipped me with precious knowledge in JavaScript, HTML, CSS, GitHub and web development, among others. With this foundation of knowledge and experience behind me, I am excited to continue pursuing both geotechnical engineering—particularly earthquake engineering—and coding as the driving passions fueling my personal growth and professional development.

Having an ESFP (Extraverted, Sensing, Feeling, Perceiving) personality type in MBTI (Myers-Briggs Type Indicator) test, also known as "The Entertainer," I am a vibrant and sociable individual who enjoys engaging with the world around me. My strong interpersonal skills enable me to connect with others effortlessly, making it easy for me to build long-lasting relationships. I possess natural enthusiasm and curiosity that drives my desire to explore new experiences and ideas.
